I Told You Bitches!

Just like I detailed in Pepper Spray Nation 7: Occupy Oakland and just like I told Frank Miller in the Open Letter. I was right! So let's think long and hard about the esteemed place we hold Ronald Reagan and Bush the Elder as Respected Statesmen, and just how much we can trust the CIA when it comes to foreign policy! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/30/ron-paul-conspiracy-theory-cia-drug-traffickers_n_1176103.html?ncid=edlinkusaolp00000003 Posted: 12/30/11 02:13 PM ET

How Social Darwinism ACTUALLY Works: Detail from PSN#7:OccupyOakland

Image
The following is based on an excerpt from Pepperspray Nation Chapter 7: Occupy Oakland.  http://donquixokie.blogspot.com/2011/12/pepperspray-nation-chapter-7-occupy.html There was an idea I had expressed there that I felt needed special attention and perhaps elaboration. Call it the "Parable of Reaganomics and the Dinosaurs." (P)eople are not content or inclined to quietly starve to death. There could be a parallel found in the mass extinction of the dinosaurs and the effect of Reagan economic and social policies...especially in what became the Inner City.

Why We Hold Hands

Why We Hold Hands There was once a time when we were not yet people. We were aquatic apes. We had lost most of our body hair. We gained subcutaneous fat more commonly seen in other aquatic mammals like cetaceans and seals than in any other great ape. Our posture straightened along the vertical, more appropriate to bobbing head and shoulders at the water surface, floating on our backs, or swimming at speed. Our females' breasts grew buoyant, women's hair grew long and strong on their heads and our newborns - plump at birth, unique among apes - had gripping strength in their tiny hands strong enough to carry their own weight. Strong enough to hold on to their mother's hair in the water. Even now when some children are submerged in deep cold water, they do not drown. They enter a state of suspended animation which allows them to recover unharmed when they should have succumbed to hypoxic brain injury. Diving Reflex it is called.

Pepperspray Nation Chapter 7: Occupy Oakland

Occupy Oakland: The Indictment Of Reagan Economic and Social Policy I want to say this in opening. What I am about to say will be considered highly controversial by many and downright inflammatory by a few. So DON'T take my word for it. And don't take the word of anyone on Fox News, the Wall Street Journal, or right wing talk radio. Instead, throw down some money on a college or University level American History Textbook that covers everything up to Clinton, and learn the truth for yourself. Ronald Reagan was a false prophet who's words and ideology are leading this nation to perdition and have been since the day he took office over 30 years ago. Educate yourselves children; for if you do not, we will never survive. Most egregious is the history and law enforcement response to Occupy Oakland. Where the Occupy Movement in New York is an ideological siege against the Temple of Mammon to which the entire nation's economy was almost sacrificed, and the Occupy Seatt...

Pepper Spray Nation Chapter 6: UC-Davis

Image
Pepper Spray Nation Occupy UC-DAVIS: The Hypocrisy of Violence College students protesting were a common theme during the Vietnam War and Civil Rights Movement. With the loss of prospects for employment and grave doubts about the system as well as social and economic justice, students are protesting again. This was the backdrop for one of the most singular excesses of the authorities against the Occupy Movement. Passive protesters seated on the ground were pepper sprayed as a form of chemical coercion by the police. http://gizmodo.com/5861446/this-is-the-pepper-spray-police-used-on-uc-davis-protesters This is in direct and absolutely ghoulish contrast to the behavior of students rioting on behalf of a coach who was caught on the wrong side of a child-raping scandal in Penn State. Nowhere have Occupiers by guilty of flipping over news trucks or light poles. Presumably, Occupiers would have been shot. http://www.whptv.com/news/local/story/State-Police-prepared-to-make-ar...

Pepper Spray Nation Chapter 5: Occupy Seattle

Image
Occupy Seattle: The Past is the Future We are one nation, but we are not a homogeneous nation. The response by authorities to the Occupy Movement is conditioned by its local history and factors "on the ground." History is prologue indeed. Over a decade ago protests were held in Seattle against the neo-colonialism of World Trade Organizations and their deleterious effect on third world nations and the environment. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_Trade_Oranization_Ministerial_Conference_of_1999_protest_activity   Activists of the successful 1998 campaign against the Multilateral Agreement on Investment (MAI) were convinced that the WTO would be used by transnational corporate influencers [ clarification needed ] as a forum in which to advance the global corporate agenda to the detriment of worldwide civil society and especially the interests of third-world countries. Not an issue at the time, but what has been discovered to be a profound evil of Trade A...

Pepper Spray Nation Chapter 4: Occupy Wall Street

Image
Welcome to Pepper Spray Nation We are one nation, but we are not a homogeneous nation. The response by authorities to the Occupy Movement is conditioned by its local history and factors "on the ground." Occupy Wall Street: Laying Siege to the Temple of Mammon Hunter S.Thompson was referring to Los Vegas and its casinos when he observed that concentrations of wealth creates its own armies. But there is no casino on earth larger that the Stock Market on Wall Street. As speculation and investment are now the prime engines of our economy, supplanting manufacturing decades ago - which, not coincidentally, nearly destroyed our economy at the close of the Bush/Cheney Administration. It is no surprise that while the Wall Street Meltdown was a tale of fraud and malfeasance from top to bottom, not a single bad actor has been investigated or charged ...

An Occupy Movement Fable: The State of the Union

The jet liner that is the United States sucked an elephant into its engine by the end of the Bush/Cheney Administration. President Obama is keeping the plane in the air, but just barely. And it would be lovely to throw the obstructionists out. But corporations who are represented by the obstructionists claim to own the plane and want nothing more that to cash in the insurance on it when it crashes. Moral: If it is anti-business to tax the wealthy, then it's alright. Business has been anti-America since Reagan. And that's the state of the union.

Occupiers Primer Chapter 3: The Tea Party Vs. The Occupy Movement

The Tea Party Vs. The Occupy Movement The Tea Parties are a movement which are Astro-turfed; that is underwritten by: wealthy individuals such as The Koch Bros of whom Americans for Prosperity is a subsidy; Conservative political lobbyists such as Dick Armey and his own group Freedomworks; and by private industries such as the Oil and Insurance lobby. These individuals and organizations paid off all of the licenses and fees and all of the the appropriate public officials which insured that they would not be interfered with by the the police or other law enforcement organization - despite the fact that they often openly carried weapons and advocated the assassination of elected officials (" The Tree of Liberty Must Periodically be Watered with the Blood of Patriots and Tyrants," "We Came Unarmed THIS Time") and lynched some politicians in effigy

Occupier Primer Chapter 2: Why We Occupy

Why We Occupy The Occupy Movement has its roots in the Arab Spring which swept through the nations of the Middle East and Northern Africa, beginning most notably in Tunisia and Egypt and resulting, most recently in the regime change in Libya and Yemen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arab_Spring . We are the brothers of the indignados in Spain. http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/11/18/spain-election-indignant-idUSL5E7MH2F020111118 The protests also began in Wisconsin in response to the union-rights stripping attempt by Koch brothers' backed Scott Walker and his threats in bring in the National Guard. And, unlike the Tea Party movement - we have spawned Occupy Movements all over the world. The midterm elections of 2010 saw a flood of Republicans elected to Con...

Occupiers Primer Chapter 1: Policy is Prologue

Policy is Prologue 1-1. In these modern times, demonstrations, civil unrest, public disorder, and riots happen for a number of reasons. Some of these reasons are economic hardships, social injustices, ethnic differences (leading to oppression), objections to world organizations or certain governments, political grievances, and terrorist acts. An event can be triggered by a single cause or a combination of causes. For example, operations in the Balkans involving civil unrest and riots were the result of ethnic hatred, a lack of civil authority, food shortages, a revolution, and religious-based fighting factions. 1-2. Demonstrations may range from simple, nonviolent protests that address specific issues, to events that turn into full-scale riots. Gatherings in protest are recognized rights of any p...

Down the Rabbit Hole and Into the Prop Room

Image
The following was written in response to a question that my friend The Mouzer had asked on Maddowblog regarding the Right To Life position. Mouzer is an expert debater, but her mind was unsettled on why Pro-Lifers are mostly sanguine on the acceptability of Capital Punishment but viewed the unborn as something they were willing to kill for in its defense. She had written off not having come to any conclusions she found acceptable silly. In truth, she had nailed the incredible hypocrisy and illogic of a political party that wants to prohibit abortion [yes, this is a new addition. 4/19/2014] while giving lip service to the concept of "small government" and "personal liberty." To which I had written the following:  This kind of "silliness" is what led Einstein to make his discoveries. Socrates knew he knew nothing and would canvas people for their opinions, discuss the implications and lead them to contradict themselves. More concisely, Joseph Hel...

Occupy Movment's Thesis of Complaint

Image
I've discovered a reasonable historical parallel to the Occupy Movement. Ann Coulter compares it to the French Revolution...which IS fair given the "let them eat cake" attitude of the 1%. But it is far more like the 1524 German Peasant Rebellion in the wake of Martin Luther's nailing of his thesis to the church door - which had also happened right around the time of that era's invention of the Internet: the printing press. The inchoate amorphous nature of the protests is actually a strategic advantage. Ratfucking opposition research by lobbyists in support of the 1% will be unable to discredit the leadership, though they may find victims, because there isn't much in the way of leadership or spokespeople. You can't decapitate what has no head.

Destroying America to Get YOU a Bigger Piece of the Pie!

Birthed on Maddowblog, #10.4 - Thu Nov 17, 2011 10:28 PM CST  midwifed by my friends Mouzer and John http://maddowblog.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/17/8862572-when-alabamans-said-they-wanted-immigration-enforcement-they-didnt-mean-for-alabamans?last=1321596820&threadId=3274727&commentId=60059299#last_5 "Folks in Alabama sound like they sorely regret passing the nation's most oppressive immigration law. Local businesses have lost their customers, farmers have lost their workers, schools have lost their students. Now that every interaction with a government agency requires proving your citizenship, Alabama's got lines out the courthouse door ( see pic ). You can't get a dog tag without showing you belong. On top of that, national labor groups are coming in , taking notes and promising to help get the Alabama law overturned. Also, a new generation of Freedom Riders is getting arrested in Alabamans' streets and demanding answers in their lawmaker' o...

Rebuttal to Fox News Indignation over Fast and Furious

Please please please. In the words of Milo Minderbinder after he revealed how much he was paid to bomb his own squandron by the Nazis in Catch-22. It might look bad but it is truly a victory for capitalism how much arms dealers in Arizona are making selling weapons to fuel the drug war in Mexico. If the occassional Congresswoman, 9 yr old girl or border patrol agent gets their brains blown out, well that's just omlet and eggs isn't it? Tightening up gun regulations in Arizona just means that the commies win!

Even if We Lived Like the Jetsons...

Tao Te Ching, Chapter 1 by Lao Tzu translated by Gia-Fu Feng and Jane English (1972): The Tao that can be told is not the eternal Tao. The name that can be named is not the eternal name. The nameless is the beginning of heaven and earth. The named is the mother of ten thousand things. Ever desireless, one can see the mystery. Ever desiring, one sees manifestations. These two spring from the same source but differ in name; this appears as darkness. Darkness within darkness. The gate to all mystery. Names, religion, and consensual reality are the product of language, time, place, and culture. All of which are relative. The human condition, the infinite, the eternal, and the absolute, and God are not just found only in the minds of men...they are hardwired in, though dormant. For us to be living life like the Jetsons would not change that because we would still be the same species that discovered fire, domesticated the wolf and revered women (Venus o...
