Open Letter to Romney and Ryan: Good Questions
Herein are a number of questions which weigh heavily on my mind and which, should you win the election will become important to you as well rest of America. Please answer these honestly.
If deregulation and tax cuts are enough to grow the economy, why didn't it work any better for Bush? How will it work any better for you?
If job creators can fatten their bottom lines off-shoring factories to third world nations, how will you stop them? If you aren't willing to punish job creators who off-shore, how are you going to raise employment by the numbers you predict here at home?
You claim that you will act in the very best interests of the middle class and told the NAACP that you will be the very best candidate for them. But the policies you (Romney) and Ryan outline all look like the same European-style Austerity which has failed to produce results in Europe.
Why should it work any better for us? If the jobs you predict fail to appear, how is the result any different for the poor the working and middle classes any different than the conditions faced during the Great Depression?
Why should the poor, the working and middle classes tolerate this?
What will you do when 98% of the American public feel themselves to have been Taxed Enough Already with very little to show for it?
If Social Security is privatized into Wall St investments, how will you prevent another Wall St meltdown like we saw under Bush in '08?
If you cut the lifelines of the poor, how will you prevent the Drug Wars we saw in the inner cities during the '80s? Double down on the War on Drugs? How will you pay for the expansion of the Prison Industrial Complex? And what is that but a backdoor form of welfare?
Will you infringe on the 2nd Amendment rights of Arizona gun dealers to sell arms to Mexican Drug Gangs?
If not, how will you crack down on that trade?
How will you end or prevent mass shootings performed with legally purchased automatic and semi-automatic weapons?
Will you monitor and profile white supremacist/anti-federalist domestic terrorist hate groups?
You claim that Obama seeks to destroy Medicare with all the cuts he has made to it. You say that you want to preserve it. Does this mean that you will restore to it what Obama has cut from it?
If Obamacare is so toxic that it must be killed, then isn't Romneycare equally onerous and bad for Massachusetts for the very same reasons? Will you outlaw Romneycare in Massachusetts if elected?
If the rights of the fetus from conception trump those of the mother, then isn't the uterus government property and therefore so is the woman who houses it?
How is this any different than Obama's insertion of the government between the patient and her doctor?
You have claimed Personhood Rights for Corporations and Fetuses.
Do the poor, the working, and the middle classes have any Personhood Rights that you are bound to recognize?
What rights are those, explicitly?
What recourse do the poor, the working and middle classes have when you violate their personhood rights?
The unfunded wars in Afghanistan and Iraq contributed greatly to the weakening of our economy. You have made it clear that you intend to engage in military and defense expansion. How are you going to pay for your wars? How much care are you going to give to the wounded and injured that the wars will produce? Our military is already over-extended, where are you going to get the extra troops?
On moral and religious grounds, how do you square your policies with Matthew 25:31-46. (I'm looking at you Paul Ryan.)
"And again I say to you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”
How are your policies remotely even Christian?
For that matter, how can you emulate the policies that created multi-trillion dollar deficits, drug wars within five years, a police state, a crashed stock market (in 1987) which necessitated the Saving and Loan bailouts of the early 90s because of Junk Bonds...and expect anything good to happen?
Bush and Cheney were true followers of Reagan. Do you think you will do better? Why?
We waited with bated breath to hear your respective answers. And I'm fairly sure I'm not the only one asking. We are dying to hear from you. Or at least pretty interested to have explained to us why some of us will be dying.
